Vintage 1900 Famous Composers and their Works: Musical Selections

The Musical Selections companion volume to Famous Composers and Their Works is a rare Victorian-era compilation of sheet music and annotated musical excerpts drawn from the works of the great masters. Published circa 1900, this volume was designed to allow educated readers to engage directly with the music celebrated in the encyclopedic main volumes. An extraordinary artifact of late-nineteenth-century musical culture — equally at home in a music library, a rare book collection, or on display as a piece of cultural history.
